First, I'll start with what I love about this picture:

-The color contrast created by the purple flower against the green background is just lovely.

-The bokeh has me drooling over my keyboard.

-Sharp focus.

-Great sense of depth to the image.

Now I'll move on to the things that I think could be improved... and, of course, these are just my personal opinions peppered with my individual taste and influenced by my own style:

-The composition is a little weak, IMO. There's a lot of negative space in the top half of the picture, which serves to distract from the flower. In addition, the leave on the ground next to the flower distracts me from it, rather than balancing out the shot. Personally, I would have gone for a more top- or center-heavy shot, rather than left-center-heavy. Not that I have anything against left-heavy images, but putting the center of image in the middle third and shifting it slightly off-center just doesn't do it for me

-I understand where the center of image lies, but I'm failing to see what, exactly, the center of interest is. Is it one of the petals of the flower? The lines on the flower? The blades of grass shooting up around the flower? The stamen? The edge of one of the petals?

I can tell that it's the flower, but I'm just not sure about where, exactly, you want my eyes to travel in this image.

Other than that, nice work I like this picture quite a bit, and I'm headed to your gallery to check out your other work. Keep it up!
